I caught the A.I generative art bug, to show my lighter side.. pun intended 😉 I do think this is a fantastic collaboration between technology and art which produces some interesting results. You know what? I love architectural photography… and standing in this building, The Rosewood Centre at Barker College, and being commissioned to photograph it was a wonderful experience because this really is a special building. My work involves spending time with a building, getting to know its ins and outs, walking around its boundaries and through its halls… all with camera in hand to document the way it speaks to me. I think the architects, Neeson + Murcutt + Neille, were able to use their design to expand on Barker College’s mission statement “every learner, every experience, every day”. The spaces were alive with children learning, exercising and enjoying their time at school. My client @makmaxAustralia is responsible for the incredible architectural fabric that wraps the northern side of the building providing important shade and cooling the building for the students within. Whilst on the southern side, the building is entirely made up of large glass panels that gives a sense of openness and invitation to the spaces.

Over the summer I have been working hard shooting a lot of real estate Photography in Sydney and I’m going to be sharing some of my best shoots here on Instagram, in my own personal editing style. It’s a combination of architectural and real estate editing 😉 I’ve been lucky enough to shoot some beautiful homes in Sydney, primarily for #McGrath Real Estate, from locations in Sydney like Mosman, McMahon’s Point, Hunters Hill, lower North Shore and Northern Beaches to name a few. This particular shoot was for a brand new home, located in the stunning Sydney waterside suburb of Hunters Hill, and was sold without officially going on sale, so the shoot was more of a documentation for McGrath before the lucky new owners move in. There’s some wonderful new architectural designed homes coming up around Sydney and I hope to share some of the more interesting or jaw dropping ones here on my Instagram in 2021.

The brief of the shoot was to showcase the way the next generational EFTE roofing material allows light into the space below during different times of the day. This provides the Arts faculty with a variety of spaces full of natural light to learn, teach, and research including a roofed atrium, lecture theatres, collaborative spaces, courtyard and office spaces.

The newly completed building references the schools beginnings from small cottages in 1901 to today’s modern architecturally designed buildings as the school expanded on its original site. I personally love the choice of colours on the facade which transitions well in the landscape from green grass to blue sky.

The Emblem Tower, by BVN, is one of three buildings that were planned to rejuvenate Waterloo in Sydney’s inner south. The two adjacent buildings were designed by architects Chen Chow Little and PTW and share a carpark under The Emblem Tower. Along with an open park with plenty of space to run and play, some restaurants and cafes, the whole area feels like a neat community. An architectural feature of the building which I find truly amazing is the sky garden on level 8. The metallic roof in the sky garden, pictured here, reflects the morning sunlight in a beautiful way and would be a lovely place to drink your morning coffee and read your newspaper.
